Friday, October 14th marked the first annual White Pumpkin Remembrance Walk, hosted by Kayla Troutman and Crystal Lewis-Tuttle, in Borden. The walk honors families who have experienced infant and pregnancy loss.
The event featured complimentary memorial gifts and balloons, family activities, refreshments, a reading of the names and the white pumpkin poem, and a prayer.
Troutman shared, “Writing the names on the pavement in chalk was a last-minute idea, and I’m so glad we did it. Seeing each family stop to take photographs and just hold each other and cry was very touching.”
“We are so proud of the parents who attended the walk. It takes a lot of courage and strength to speak about your heartbreak publicly. We also appreciate the families and friends who joined them and supported them in their journeys.” Lewis-Tuttle
